At Least Some Recent Preston Center Car Burglaries Solved

Friday’s edition of Preston Hollow People has a story detailing the relatively high number of car break-ins on the Dallas side of Preston Center (hint: roughly twice as many per parking space as across the street at University Park’s Plaza at Preston Center). The story also mentioned a dozen burglaries in the parking lot of Romano’s Macaroni Grill on Northwest Highway. Well, police nabbed two men Thursday suspected of several break-ins. Erick Hernandez, 24, and Ruben Alejandro Palautow, 41, were arrested after stealing a whole bunch of things from a handful of cars at Romano’s last Thursday. According to police reports, they’ve also been charged with two other car burglaries on the same day, one of a 2010 BMW on Sherry Lane, one on Northwest Highway near Hillcrest. All of these happened too late to be included in Friday’s story. No word at this point on whether the duo might be involved in any of the other few dozen Preston Center break-ins.
