Is It Cool to Dress Like T?

An Overheardian trying to get her pulse on the fashion beat for the over 40 crowd wants to know what you think:

There are so many moms in the Park Cities who try to look too youthful and don’t quite pull it off. Is it more stylish to look young or to dress your age? Ladies in their 40s shouldn’t be sharing clothes with their 15 year old should they?

Sorry, I can’t help but think of T.

Thank you sweet merciful emailer. It’s time to give up the dream ladies. Maybe keep the tart wear if you get divorced and want to pick up an Uptown Douche (UD, or DD) with a penchant for Ed Hardy, but around hurr, no thank you. I like the designer jeans, as I don’t want to stare at 2 (vertical) feet of butt in the line at Starbucks, but I draw the line there. Maybe I’m the wrong person to ask though as my (26 yr old) wife would wear OCBD’s every day if I had my way. I rarely have my way, but that goes without saying.

matt’s log, post 2: I just attempted to capture one of the aforementioned creatures of the outer world from my perch at snider plaza bucks. I used the old “pretend I’m calling someone but I’m really taking a picture of your stupid face” gambit, but I ended up with mostly ceiling. Then, just as fast as her abercrombie’d (is this real life?!) self arrived, she was gone. I’ll be here until 4.

    I remain,

    Lower-case matt

very much agree. Super skin tight, too much cleavage and showing off any belly at all is a no-no if you have a kid in school. Period – no exceptions.

Depends if they’ve still got it.

But, wait. kmom, you just described 2/3 of the moms in the Park Cities. I hosted a birthday party for my child last year and one mom showed up in hot pants and 4 inch high heels. The dads at the party thought she was a stripper. They wish!

Definitely agree with Gagree. Depends if they’ve still got it. Still can dress sexy…just not trashy.
