The Conclusion of Banner-Gate

Just in from the indefatigable Steve Mace:

We have received word from Preston Phillips that Legacy Hillcrest is going to remove the banners from the sides of the Chase Bank building. Mr. Phillips asked, citing the need to coordinate the various people and equipment necessary to complete that task, if the City was willing to extend its deadline.  The City has extended the deadline to the close of business Friday.

According to the sign, the Legacy project will contain our new UP library and more parking for Snider Plaza. In reality, the library was dumped from the latest plans and Legacy demanded to build far fewer parking spaces than our city code would have required. They seem to have no problem putting nice things in writing when they know it is just part of their empty propaganda.
