July 5th is Purple and Orange Day

I can’t seem to grasp it. It doesn’t make sense. The July 4th parade needs to be on July 4th even if it’s on a Sunday. It’s like moving Christmas or something. I don’t get it. Even if other towns are moving the celebration date, they’re doing it on Saturday the 3rd. Monday the 5th?

Maybe we should change the color scheme too. Wear purple and orange this year?

Did you get this image from the Electric Boutique web site?

I agree with you though, you can’t really monkey around with important dates, like July 4 or Christmas. Just doesn’t feel the same.

Totally agree with Merritt on this; I understand that the parade route would cause massive traffic issues with Bubble church-goers on Sunday, but why would you move the parade to a weekday, even if alot of people have it off? Gotta be on Saturday. Boy, nothing’s sacred anymore.

I totally agree, changing the date for July 4th? So wrong. I’ll wear purple in orange as a sign of solidarity that we protest the date change. My kid’s on a float so we’ll be there to celebrate July 3, but not liking it. I heard the teenage boys talking about this, “Why is the July 4th parade on July 3?” “Because of God, God doesn’t want us to have fun and junk on Sundays”.

I don’t care what colors you wear, as long as when you bend over in your chosen attire, I don’t risk the hazard of seeing any hoo-ha.

That, of course, rules out the outfits posted above.

Wick Allison didn’t anyone messing with his plan to integrate the PC churches. He was afraid those black folks would think the PC residents were protesting the right to free association and religion.
