It’s been a long, injury-plagued two seasons for former Scot Chris Young. But the 6-10 San Diego Padres pitcher is set to make his first start of the season against the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday.
Young has been out the whole season with a strained shoulder. He had arthroscopic surgery on the same shoulder last August.
The Padres are trying to hang onto their lead in the NL West. They lead the San Francisco Giants by a half-game heading into today’s action.
