    Do you have enough clout with Pat or the UP folks to find out the schedule (eta) for each location check and the coordinates of each them (what streets frame them)?

    Dear Pat,

    When you come around to my neighborhood, please stop by for a visit. You see, I am unoccupied and lonely. My front porch steps are cracked and peeling. My big front tree is so large and overgrown that no grass will grow underneath, and my front lawn has been nothing but dirt for the past 3 years. I’m embarrassed that my owners, Highland Park Presbyterian Church, don’t take very good care of me and as a result, I don’t look as pretty and well kept as the other homes around me. Because I am all dark and empty at night, people are scared to walk past me. I know I am 75 years old, but I can look as bright and fresh as so mnay other lovely older homes in UP. Lots of people think older homes like me add charm and beauty to our community.

    Can you help me?

    Sincerely,
    The Empty House at 3916 McFarlin

    @BM,
    The D Magazine story linked above states, “Pat Grecco is the city’s sole Neighborhood Integrity Officer” and also refers to “A truck with green letters, letters that spell Code Enforcement.” But I guess that could be wrong. Or maybe it all falls under the sanitation umbrella? I don’t know. Anyway, I’m sure you’re right.

    Dear Pat,

    I am the little white house in the 2800 block of Milton. Drug dealers have used my interior over the last four years.

    Could you please come over and write a citation for weeds in my alley? Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    Oh it’s Pat, she’s gotten us for the alley weeds. Twice. And one of our alley address numbers fell off once – she was ON.IT.

    “They took twenty seven eight-by-ten color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was to be used as evidence against us. Took pictures of the approach, the getaway, the northwest corner the southwest corner and that’s not to mention the aerial photography.”

    Do these signs a little ugly, “soar eye”… I do I think the code enforcement officers have finally figured out how to write you a ticket without a complaint…. This sign is there disclosure…

    I think it his name is Mike, and he is an difficult person to reason with… if you think he is out of hand complain.. he will eventually get enough complaints…

    These code enforcement officers are out of hand…

    UPDAD,

    I GUESS THE RULES DON’T FIT YOUR NEEDS. HE IS DOING A JOB WITH RULES SET IN PLACE WE ALL HAVE TO FOLLOW. THERE IS NO REASON, BUT RULES SET IN PLACE BY YOUR CITY.

    I agree about Mike… he’s very difficult and sometimes rude. Having said that, I’m sure he didn’t always find me pleasant either… the frustration is when you are really trying to do what is asked and (spending a fair amount of money to do so) but its never enough. He seems to lack a spirit of cooperation.
