Highland Park resident Michael Steindorf has been named chairman of the Dallas Summer Musicals board of directors for 2011. A partner at the Fulbright & Jaworski law firm, Steindorf became involved with Dallas Summer Musicals several years as a result of doing some pro bono legal work on the company’s behalf, according to a press release I received this morning. But his fascination with DSM goes back several more years, to when he was 15. According to the same release, that’s when Steindorf mowed yards all summer to earn money to take a date to see DSM’s 1971 production of Camelot starring Robert Goulet. No word on how that date went.
