Home Repair Huckster Returns

Highland Park officers are warning residents of the return of a home repair scammer who took advantage of an elderly resident last year. The crook apparently goes door-to-door claiming to be a roofer, but in fact does nothing but steal your money.

He targets elderly females, claiming he’s done work for one of their neighbors.

He’s described as a white man in his fifties, 5’11”, 180 pounds. He could drive either a blue 2011 Ford F250 pickup or 2007 Ford F150.

My question: if he can afford a new, $35,000 truck, why is he scamming people?

Anyway, be on your toes, folks, and watch after your neighbors.

    Is a 2001 or a 2007 truck really considered “new”?

    @Gringo-

    My bad. It was supposed to read 2011. Fixed.

    My kids said someone in a bright blue pickup truck pulled into the driveway and came to the door offering to work on our garage. He said he left a flier earlier in the week (not that I found). Same guy? On another note… from the stuff on the parkway, looks like another (more noteworthy) neighbor on Fondren is doing some furniture purging.
