Thank You. Thank You Very Much.

Chris McDade scores a run.

When Highland Park needed it most, “Elvis” left the yard.

Junior second baseman Chris McDade smashed a walk-off home run to left field with two outs and a runner on in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Scots to a 3-1 bi-district playoff victory over Frisco Centennial on Thursday night in Allen. Highland Park (29-4) will take on the North Dallas-Woodrow Wilson winner in the area round next week.

McDade, who got the nickname “Elvis” when he sported some blue suede shoes in seventh grade, jumped on the first pitch he saw from Titan reliever Blake Harrell — a two-seam fastball — and banked it off the foul pole for his first walk-off homer.

“I thought it was going foul, to be honest with you,” McDade said. “I don’t even know how far it went up. … I couldn’t believe it. When I saw that umpire twirl his fingers around, I just jumped for joy. I’m so glad it happened to our team for us to advance. We were fighting, but we knew if we came through at the end we would make it to the next round. And we did that.”

Great battle for the Scots last night and great group of fans. Pitchers held the Titans to one run, and the bats came through when it counted.

    Go Scots!!

Come support them in the next round!
