Three Hockaday Seniors Join Ranks of Paid Artists

"Struggle" by Kaykay Halle

Hockaday senior Kaykay Halle is earning distinctions that an artist of any age would be proud of. Halle recently won Honorable Mention in the 32nd District Congressional Art Contest sponsored by Congressman Pete Sessions. Her piece titled “Struggle” will hang in Sessions’ office for one year.

Halle and two other Hockaday seniors won the Student Collection Purchase Awards and will have a piece of their artwork displayed in the inaugural Hockaday Student Art Collection. Halle will contribute photography, and Margaret Rote and Vivian Ludford will add ceramics and 2-D studio work, respectively. In a reversal of roles, the school will pay the students for their work.
