Dallas’ Last Borders to Shutter

In fact, all Borders will close after the bookseller failed to find a buyer. The last Borders in Dallas — in Old Town off of Lovers Lane — will close, and all of their merchandise will be liquidated starting Friday.

When the Borders in the Preston Oaks Shopping Center closed, it left a very temporary hole soon filled by Central Market. I wonder what will fill the space in Old Town, which is a pretty heavily trafficked area at the corner of Greenville Avenue and Lovers.

Any theories? Wild speculation? Comments are open.

Hoping it’s a Trader Joe’s – a perfect location with high traffic, drawing value seekers from all over the area – SMU types, PC, PH and Lakewood.

Lots of people are going to have to find a new place to work during the day…you usually have to get their early to get a table if you plan to do some working/studying. There is already a CM across the street and Whole Foods down the way…the bicycle shop and now Borders – that is gonna be a pretty big eye sore of vacancy so hoping they get the space leased soon. What about a bowling alley…hear they aren’t too keen on it further down Greenville…
