Hillcrest’s TEA Rating Improves

In a case of “good news, bad news,” Hillcrest High School’s accountability rating improved from last year when the Texas Education Agency released its annual scores Friday. That’s remarkable, given that ratings dropped across the board, thanks to the TEA ending the controversial practice of counting students who were predicted to pass the TAKS in the future as actually passing it now. The bad news is that Hillcrest’s rating rose from “unacceptable” to “acceptable.” That leaves a lot of room for further improvement.
