Campbell’s Criminal Case Stalls

I just got off the phone with J. Nathan Campbell’s criminal attorney, Mark Nancarrow, who told me the case is effectively on hold per the actions of the District Attorney’s Office.

Campbell, 35, is a former World History Teacher at the Episcopal School of Dallas. He has been charged with two felonies: sexual assault and inappropriate student-educator relationship.

Nancarrow said the DA keeps pushing to reschedule Campbell’s criminal court date, and has not discussed the terms of the plea deal that Nancarrow orchestrated with Bobbie Villareal, the previous DA assigned to the case.

Campbell’s court date is scheduled for 9 a.m. tomorrow, but Nancarrow doesn’t expect anything other than a 30-day or so extension.
