Chelsea Linn Scott and Austin Douglas Hunt weddingChelsea Linn Scott and Austin Douglas Hunt exchanged wedding vows April 9, 2011 at The Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas. Dr. Gary Singleton, Senior Pastor, officiated and the Dallas String Quartet provided the nuptial music. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Pavilion at The Belo Mansion.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Sally Shelton Scott and Mr. Rider Scott of Richardson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joye M. Shelton and the late Mr. Bill J. Shelton of Houston and the late Mr. andMrs. William Allen Scott of Weatherford, Texas.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Herbert Hunt of University Park. He is the grandson of Mrs. John Franklin Flynn and the late Mr. John Franklin Flynn of Denison, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. William Herbert Hunt of Dallas.

For her wedding, the bride wore an elegant gown of Italian silk satin, designed by Romona Keveza for Stanley Korshak. The classic silhouette featured a sweetheart neckline and draped bodice which was highlighted by a sash at her natural waist. The fluted skirt fell gracefully to the floor. To complete her ensemble, she wore an heirloom veil of sheer illusion which cascaded past her chapel-length train. This exquisite veil was worn in honor of her grandmother, Virginia Cotten Scott, who first wore it, trimmed with Belgian lace, at her wedding in 1945. The bride’s mother, Sally Shelton Scott, wore this veil at her wedding in 1982.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and her father escorted her down the aisle. Attending her as maids of honor were Mary Margaret Porter and Casey Lamar Shelley. Her matron of honor was Sally Ann Laughter Triant. Her bridesmaids were Megan Kimberly Hunt Carter, sister of the groom, Jillian Dorene Chambers, Claire Garahan Scheihing, Lindsay Brooke Schlueter, Lauren Annette Sisson, Jordan Allred Wheaton, and Amanda Kay Williams. The groom’s niece Hailey Elizabeth Hunt was the flower girl.

Members of the house party included Sally Anne Blackmon, Mary Katherine Blum, Morgan Patricia Grandy, Lacy Ann Holaday, Elizabeth Floyd Hunt, Anne Lindsey McColloch, and Claudia Lynn Rodriguez.

Serving the groom as best man was Davin Patrick Hunt, his brother. The groomsmen were Matthew David Alexis, Hunter James Burns, John Francis Cocos, Chase Tiernan Conway, Casey Herbert Hunt, brother of the groom, Taylor Flynn Hunt, brother of the groom, Michael James Garvik Marquart, Merrill Frederick Nelson II, Alexander Nabil Sahliyeh, and Sloane Rider Scott, brother of the bride. The groom’s nephew, George Herbert Hunt, served as the ring bearer. Mr. Paulding Chichester and Mr. Austin Fowler Schoppe read scriptures at the ceremony.

Ushers included Herbert Hunt Allred, Christopher Joel Carter, Carter William Hunt, Marshall Thomas Hunt,Bradley Franklin Lopez, Orman Kimbrough Upton, and Maddox Morgan Womble.

The bride is a graduate of L. V. Berkner High School in Richardson. She received her Bachelor of Arts in the School of Journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 2007 where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She is also a member of the Junior League of Dallas and a member of the Salvation Army Junior Auxiliary. While residing in Dallas, she was an active volunteer at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. She is currently a land administrator at Petro Hunt, LLC in Bismarck, N.D.

The groom is a graduate of Highland Park High School. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia in 2007 where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He is currently a petroleum landman at Petro Hunt, LLC inBismarck, N.D.

Following a Caribbean honeymoon on the British Virgin Island of Virgin Gorda at the Little Dix Bay Resort and at the Caneel Bay Resort on the American Virgin Island of St. John, the couple is at home in Bismarck, N.D.
