Drew Henson’s Dog Allegedly Bites Young Boy

Yes, that Drew Henson.

According to a police report, the one-time Dallas Cowboys QB’s three dogs allegedly ran after a seven-year-old boy in the 4600 block of Lorraine Avenue November 7, and nipped the boy in the hip. The child was taken to Children’s Medical Center.

In the police report, Henson claims that “he did not need to have his dogs on [a] leash since they were in his front yard.”

A photo posted by Henson on Twitter Sunday shows three dogs, which he titled “The Whack Pack.” Other tweets by Henson include correspondence with Patrick’s Movement, a group dedicated to strengthening animal cruelty laws. Henson currently works as a college football color analyst for ESPN3.

Park Cities People could not find a phone number to contact Henson, and according to the police report, “contact was attempted with Henson with negative results.”

So he boasts that his dogs are the “whack pack”, just a few days *after* they attack a 7-year-old boy?

“he did not need to have his dogs on [a] leash since they were in his front yard.” But they did need to be on a leash the moment they stepped out of his yard, even onto the sidewalk.

I don’t get the animal cruelty connection here. It is a case of cruelty/injury to a child. I hope the boy is recovering from the injury and the scare.

If they attacked my 7 year old son I would be pissed … especially if it warranted a visit to the ER and if the owner showed no remorse … no matter who it was! Am I mistaken, but wasn’t Drew Henson in the military at one time? If so, I would expected a better response from him.
