All Park Cities Candidates Sticking to Low Budgets

The deadline to file campaign finance documents for Highland Park and University Park mayoral and council elections was April 12, but the date came and went with no filings.

That’s because all candidates in both municipalities have elected for modified reporting, which limits their campaign spending to less than $500, according to HP town secretary Gayle Kirby and UP city secretary Liz Spector. As soon as a candidate passes that threshold, they’re required to file a full finance report.

If anyone does that, you’ll be the first to know. Well, technically I guess I’ll be one of the first to know, then I’ll let you know. Either way, you’ll know pretty quickly.
