Hillcrest Junior Rewarded For Never Missing School

A few months back, I mentioned the story of Bria Bradshaw, a Hillcrest junior who hadn’t missed a day of school since pre-K. After hearing in fourth grade that if she graduated absence-free she’d get a $25,000 scholarship, she busted her butt every day to get to class.

Then, DISD said “No, nuh-uh, we never said that,” and Bradshaw was sad. Rightfully.

Well yesterday, some business leaders attempted to remedy that situation. Greg Howard has the story at the Observer.
