Lamplighter Has Science Night Out at Perot Museum

Lamplighter’s kindergarten, first grade, and their families took part in Science Night Out at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science last week, where kids participated in 18 different activities that explored Newton’s three laws of motion, fossil exploration, and sound waves.

The event focused on STEM activities: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The school formed the partnership with the museum last year, and since then they have collaborated on lesson plans and development programs for Lamplighter teachers.

“Science Night showcased science education for our younger learners in a unique way,” said Lamplighter head of school Joan Hill in a press release. She said the partnership allows Lamplighter to build on the strong science curriculum, and that these activities give students “new opportunities for discovery.”
