City Plan Commission to Discuss Ursuline Rezoning

Last summer, I wrote about Ursuline’s bid to rezone and get a playing field. More than a decade after a failed first attempt — one that made neighbors balk thanks to the proposed seating area’s size, noise potential, and other factors — the school filed its paperwork again with City Hall. The new proposal came with plenty of community input and adjustments to reduce crowds, lights, traffic, and such.

Now Ursuline’s application for a specific-use permit and an amendment/expansion to its planned-development district is on today’s City Plan Commission agenda (see page 6 of this PDF), calling for an “illuminated competitive athletic field on a portion of the property in the southwest quadrant of Walnut Hill Lane and Inwood Road.”  Meaning, in non-wonky chatter, that the idea is coming along. Could be, anyway.

The commission meets at 11 a.m.
