UP Looks For ‘Citizen of The Year’

Applications are now open for the 2013 Citizen of the Year award in University Park. The City Council started this award in order to recognize those who make our community better.

Nominees must be a resident of University Park and have worked to improve the life of the neighborhood. There’s no age limit. But, current and former mayors or city council members are not eligible. If you’d like to nominate someone, complete the online form here. You can also mail a hard copy to City Hall (attn: Steve Mace). Make sure to get those in by June 3.

A panel consisting of residents and a council member will choose the winner and notify him or her the week of June 10. The honoree gets to ride in the Fourth of July parade, and take part in a ceremony at Goar Park with a plaque and special gift.
