Emilea McCutchan, a student at the Christ the King Catholic School, has won a contest sponsored by Dallas Children’s Theater. A hat designed by Paige will be featured in Little Women.

When asked why she wanted to enter the contest, Emilea came up with a list of reasons: “I thought it would be fun. I love seeing costumes on stage; I love being on stage! I wanted to support what a wonderful place Dallas Children’s Theater is for kids wanting to be in creative arts.” The contest’s judges said, “This is exactly the type of bonnet we envisioned: gingham, a period feel, and sweet.”

Winners were chosen for each of the show’s in DCT’s 2013-14 season, and they will all help build their hats with resident designer Lyle Huchton. Each winner will also receive a bio in the show program, four tickets to opening night, and recognition on the stage. At the conclusion of the season, the winning hats will be auctioned off in a fundraiser benefiting DCT.
