Jamie Ford Speaks at HPUMC in September

Most likely, your kids have been wrapped up in summer reading for the last couple of months. But the reading fun doesn’t have to stop when temperatures begin to cool.

Author Jamie Ford will speak at ‘Authors Live!’ hosted by Highland Park United Methodist Church. The event takes place at the church, and gets started at 7 p.m. on Sept. 19. He’ll be promoting his second novel, Songs of Willow Frost, which follows a Depression-era boy abandoned by his mother. Books will be available for purchase, and there will be a signing after.

The event, which is co-sponsored by Friends of the Highland Park Public Library and Friends of the SMU Library, is free to the public. But there is a reservation-only reception at 6 p.m. for $30 a person, which includes a copy of the book.
