Dallas Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen, a Preston Hollow resident, helped Finland win a bronze medal over the weekend at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Lehtonen, making his first Olympic appearance, started two games during the tournament, including a 6-1 win over Norway in the preliminary round and a 2-1 loss to Sweden in the semifinals.

Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask started the majority of the games for Finland, while Lehtonen served as the backup. The Finns topped the United States 5-0 in the bronze-medal game on Saturday.

Lehtonen will return to his day job on Thursday when the Stars host the Carolina Hurricanes.
