Baseball Fans, Meet the Terrell Heritage Jubilee

Before I came to People Newspapers last fall, I worked for two-plus years in Terrell, the site of tonight’s District 10-4A baseball regular-season finale for Highland Park. The Scots have an outside chance at the district title if they win.

I still have some friends out that way, and so I will happily plug the Terrell Heritage Jubilee, which is a big event for folks in Kaufman County, with a carnival and pig races and plenty of barbecue and such. It’s fun in a small-town throwback sort of way.

At any rate, the event consumes the area adjacent to Ben Gill Park, which is where the Tigers play their home games. So for those making the trip east for tonight’s crucial contest, my suggestion is to arrive early because parking will be limited. And enjoy a turkey leg or a ride on the ferris wheel while you’re at it.
