Preston Hollow resident Mike Modano received his latest — and perhaps his biggest — individual accolade on Monday when he was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Modano, of course, played with the Stars franchise in Minnesota and Dallas from 1989 to 2010. He helped the Stars win a Stanley Cup title in 1999, and had his No. 9 jersey retired this spring. During his career, he became the NHL’s all-time leader in goals among American-born players with 561.

Modano was selected for the Hall in his first year of eligibility. He will be honored along with the other inductees later this year at a ceremony in Toronto.
