ORIX Foundation Grant Benefits New Friends New Life

New Friends New Life, an organization that supports sexually trafficked women and girls, has received a grant from the ORIX Foundation totaling over $150,000.

“We were truly moved by the challenges these exploited women and girls face, and New Friends New Life has created a smart, safe and successful way of helping them rebuild and recreate their lives after leaving the sex trade,” said Joshua Mayfield, executive vice president and director for the ORIX Foundation and managing director of Alternative Investments for ORIX.

The ORIX Foundation is a charitable foundation sponsored by North Texas-based ORIX Americas.

Katie Pedigo, executive director of New Friends New Life, said this partnership with the ORIX Foundation will provide comprehensive services such as education, job training, medical care, financial assistance, and much more. “Because of this generous donation, more women and children will overcome backgrounds of abuse, addiction, poverty and limited opportunities, and take control of their lives to create a brighter future,” she said.

The donation is comprised of ORIX employee contributions matched by ORIX Americas, a grant from sponsor Wollmuth, Maher, and Deutsch, LLP, and a contribution from the ORIX Foundation.
