Trinity Christian Academy is offering a new course in honors engineering design.

The class allows students to gain perspective in various disciplines such as design, and at emerging challenges in the field.

“Over the years, I’ve seen the gradual effects of more women joining and succeeding in the STEM fields, but there is still a long road ahead,” said Lisa Wong, director of technology and integrations at TCA.

Wong and her students joined the viral campaign #ILookLikeAnEngineer to encourage awareness of diversity within the field.

“I am excited that I have an opportunity in high school to take a class that is orientated towards teamwork and thinking outside the box. I want to become an industrial engineer,” said Madison Helms, one of Wong’s senior students.
