There is hardly a street in Dallas that hasn’t been touched by Ebby Halliday in one way or another. A real estate legend who broke through more than one glass ceiling during her lifetime,Halliday died Sept.8, and tomorrow, Sept. 17, the people of Dallas will be able to celebrate her life properly.

Originally from Kansas, Halliday discovered her ability to sell in the hat department. After cultivating this skill, Halliday transferred to Dallas and it was here she learned her true calling in the real estate sector. In 1945, Halliday founded Ebby Halliday Realtors, which is now the largest independently owned residential real estate services company in Texas.

Alongside her real estate footprint rests one for her philanthropic nature. Halliday served on the board of multiple organizations and was actively involved in several notable groups. It is needless to say, but must be said anyway–Ebby’s shoes can never be filled.

The memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. at Park Cities Baptist Church. For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed at CBS DFW.
