Hillcrest High Receives Social Media Threat

Earlier today, a threat was made on social media against Hillcrest High School. The school has requested support from Dallas ISD in their investigations.

While details of the threat have not been released, Dr. Leeann Bartee, principal at Hillcrest High School, released this statement on the school’s website earlier today:

Dear parents/guardians,

The safety and security of our students at Hillcrest High School is vital. When issues of concern are brought to our attention, we feel it is important to share them with you.

Dallas ISD Police and the school administration are investigating an incident where a threat against the school was posted on social media. Out of an abundance of caution, we have requested support from Dallas ISD Police. It is not clear who is responsible for the threat, but we are hopeful they become known to be held responsible for their actions.

Please take this moment to reinforce the need to avoid making comments that threaten or harass others. Also, please continue to encourage our young men and women to report inappropriate comments or behavior to adults. If you have any questions or concerns, always feel free to call us at (972) 502-6800.

Sincerely,

Dr. Leeann Bartee

Principal

Hillcrest High School
