Dieb, Scots to Wrestle With Postseason Foes
It’s time for Highland Park wrestlers to leave it all on the mat when postseason action gets underway on Friday at the District 7-6A tournament at Richardson High School.
The Scots will compete for a chance to qualify for the Class 6A Region II tournament on Feb. 12-13 in Allen. The state tournament is scheduled for Feb. 19-20 in suburban Houston.
The district includes Jesuit, Skyline, Sunset, W.T. White, Richardson, Lake Highlands, Richardson Berkner, and Richardson Pearce. All schools except for HP and Jesuit have both boys and girls teams.
Former Class 4A state champion Stephen Dieb leads the Scots after placing fourth in his first 6A state tournament last year. Dieb has been wrestling in the 152-pound weight class for most of the season.
