Perhaps it’s a triple-double, if you’re looking for a name for what the ESD soccer program is trying to accomplish this weekend.

The Eagles will travel to Houston trying to win their third consecutive SPC championship in both boys and girls soccer, extending a run of recent dominance.

The unbeaten ESD girls (13-0-3) will be among the favorites as the top seed from the North division, meaning they get a first-round bye. The boys will have a tougher road as the fourth seed from the North division.

The SPC also will hold championships this weekend in basketball (boys and girls), swimming and diving, and wrestling.

St. Mark’s is among the top contenders in all three sports, and is the defending champion in both boys swimming and wrestling. Hockaday is looking to repeat in girls swimming.

The Lions also are seeded second among North teams in boys basketball, while Greenhill has the same seed on the girls side.
