Let’s Taco Bout It
Celebrate and eat at this year’s 2nd annual Taco Libre: A Seriously Tasty Taco & Music Festival at Main St. Garden Park on April 30.
This year’s Taco Libre will feature 21 taquerias organized by Jose R. Ralat. Taquerias from El Paso to Austin will be cooking up $2 tacos and vegetarian tacos. Taco Libre will be hosting two new events: Taco Takedown Eating Contest challenging contestants to eat as many tacos in a certain amount of time, and a Chile Pepper Challenge to see how much heat contestants can handle.
California’s Mariachi El Bronx will be headlining Taco Libre, along with other musical appearance by Austin’s “Latin-Funk masters”, and Grupo Fantasma. Taco Libre will also host the Lucha Libre Challenge and book signings for The Taco Cleanse and La Tacopedia.
Gates will open at 3 p.m., tickets can be bought online in advance for $16 and will be $22 the day of the festival.
