HP’s Chandler Carter will aim for her seventh state title beginning Monday in College Station.

Highland Park’s reputation at the state tennis tournament is unmatched, and Chandler Carter is the latest example.

The senior will attempt to equal a state record (held by three former HP standouts) with her seventh state title beginning Monday at the Class 6A state tournament in College Station, when she teams with Phillip Quinn in the mixed-doubles bracket.

Carter, a Wake Forest signee, is undefeated in three previous trips to the state tournament, including last year, when she won in girls doubles with Elizabeth Porter.

Carter and Quinn will face Paola Bou and Taylor Schmitt of New Braunfels in the quarterfinals. The championship match is set for Tuesday.

In girls doubles, Logan Lett and Brittany Newton will take the court with a quarterfinal match on Monday against Melody Duong and Aava Azad of Clear Springs.
