HP Starts Postseason With Easy Wins
As it has done all year, Highland Park cruised past three opponents in its area tournament last week to start postseason play.
The Scots (14-0) shut out Mount Pleasant and Wylie East before scoring an 11-2 win over Texarkana Texas High in the area championship match. The HP girls led the way with six singles wins and three more in doubles.
Among the singles winners for HP against the Tigers were Elizabeth Tedford, Katherine Petty, Logan Lett, Marie Claire Goff, Ashlee Newton, and Madison McBride.
HP will travel to Allen for the Class 5A Region II tournament on Thursday and Friday, aiming for a chance to return to the state tournament next week in College Station.
