Jesuit Trio Leads Fall Athlete Signings

After winning a Class 6A state title last season, it’s no surprise that the Jesuit baseball program is sending several players to the college level.

Three members of the title squad signed letters of intent this week to play at schools out west, including a pair of pitchers who will be on Pac-12 conference rivals — Jacob Palisch (Stanford) and J.J. Montenegro (Arizona). Mark Ready signed with Santa Clara.

That doesn’t even count Kyle Muller, the state tournament MVP from last June who signed to play professionally over the summer with the Atlanta Braves organization after being drafted in the second round.

Nor does that list include other seniors from last year’s team who already are set to play in college in 2017, including Cameron Dobbs (Oklahoma State), Bryce Bonner (Purdue), or Jared Kengott (Southern Illinois).

The trio of Jesuit baseball signees were among many athletes from area private schools who inked with colleges this week. Others include:
