HP Boys Win Meet at The Colony

Heading into a big week of competition, Highland Park swimmers performed well at the Cougar Classic last weekend in The Colony.

The Highland Park boys continued their early-season splash by taking first place in the team standings at the Cougar Classic meet on Nov. 12 at The Colony.

Robby King won the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke for the Blue Wave, while Felix Van Cauwelaert earned the victory in the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly. Other medalists for HP included Tommy King (silver, 500 freestyle), Ethan Nguyen (silver, 100 freestyle and 200 individual medley), and Peter Paulus (third, 100 breaststroke).

On the girls side, HP was third as a team, with freshman Morgan Rehme posting a runner-up finish in the 50 freestyle.

The Blue Wave has a busy week ahead, with a dual meet in Carrollton on Thursday followed by the 6A North Zone TISCA Invitational over the weekend in Lewisville.
