Highland Park’s offensive struggles continued on Tuesday during a 43-28 loss to Lovejoy in the District 15-5A opener.

Ashley Turner scored eight points to pace the Lady Scots (6-9), who scored just nine points after halftime, allowing the Lady Leopards to pull away.

HP entered the game with some momentum after rallying for a 46-43 road win against Quinlan Ford in its final nondistrict tuneup on Dec. 8 behind 15 points from Mary Warriner Kemp.

The Lady Scots will return home on Friday to face North Forney, with tip-off at about 6 p.m., following the boys game against Chicago Simeon.
