SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: RETURN TO SENDER

Penpals not welcome? Around 8:52 p.m. Jan. 11, homeowner in the 5300 block of Nokaoma Drive let the police know two letters from an unknown party had shown up in the mailbox. 

8 Monday

Property was stolen from a home in the 7200 block of Midbury Drive sometime between 2 and 6 a.m. 

A home in the 7200 block of Northaven Road was burglarized around 4:38 a.m.

Around 6 a.m. a burglar broke into Park Cleaners in the 6700 block of West Northwest Highway. 

A delivery driver was accused of taking a wallet around 11:20 a.m. from a homeowner in the 8200 block of Douglas Avenue.

Arrested: a 19-year-old man for shoplifting between 4:22 and 4:50 p.m. in Macy’s at NorthPark Center.

9 Tuesday

Stolen before 5:45 a.m.: a vehicle parked overnight in the 5800 block of Nakoma Drive.

Stolen before 7:30 a.m.: the mirrors of a vehicle parked overnight in the 6100 block of Woodland Drive.

The tires were stolen sometime before 8 a.m. from a vehicle parked overnight in the 7700 block of Greenway Boulevard.

10 Wednesday

A 71-year-old man told police that sometime between 2:45 and 3 p.m. he was possibly followed from a bank, and his car was broken into while parked at the Preston Forest Village. 

11 Thursday

Vandalized before 9 a.m.: the front door of Unrefined Bakery in Preston Center. 

A home in the 6300 block of Walnut Hill Lane was burglarized sometime between 10:24 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.

A 53-year-old woman’s wallet was stolen from her purse while shopping between 12:25 and 12:38 p.m. at the Preston Forest Village.

Between 5:15 and 7 p.m., two vehicles parked outside of the Arthur Murray Dance Studios in the 6500 block of LBJ Freeway were burglarized. 

12 Friday

The window of an office building in the 8300 block of Douglass Ave. was broken and property from inside was stolen between 10 and 10:45 a.m.

Stolen between 1 and 1:30 p.m.: property from a vehicle parked in the 7200 block of Lupton Circle. 

Arrested: a 59-year-old man for shoplifting between 1:38 and 2:10 p.m. in Macy’s at NorthPark Center. 

Stolen around 8:40 p.m.: property from a home in the 6700 block of Northpoint Drive. 

 

13 Saturday

Arrested: a 37-year-old man accused of shoplifting between 12:27 and 1 p.m. in Neiman Marcus at NorthPark Center.

Phones were stolen around 4:45 p.m. from a shelf display at a Verizon store in the 5900 block of West Northwest Highway.
