Flu Concerns Close Jesuit Campus

Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas announced Monday afternoon that its campus would be closed Tuesday and Wednesday to disinfect community spaces.

“A concerning number of students, faculty, and staff have exhibited flu-like symptoms over the last several days,” said James Kramer, director of communications. “While not all of these are confirmed cases of flu, enough members of our community are ill at this time to warrant extreme caution and a campus wide closing.”

Of 1,100 students, more than 100 are ill, he said.

In addition to classes, all on-campus activities and community service were canceled. Off-campus sporting events will continue as scheduled.

Campus activity will resume as normal after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

“Please take appropriate precautions at home to keep you and your family well,” school administrators posted on social media. “We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
