As the regular season enters the home stretch, Highland Park seems to be rounding into playoff form.

The Lady Scots (18-0-1, 11-0) continued their unbeaten run through District 15-5A with a 4-0 shutout of Mesquite Poteet on Tuesday. That came on the heels of a 10-0 thrashing of West Mesquite on March 2.

HP continues to spread the goals around. Maja Davison, Frances Ann Matise, Sarah O’Neal, and Presley Echols each scored against Poteet. The season-best goal output against West Mesquite featured hat tricks from Echols and Rachel Wasserman.

In boys action, HP kept its playoff hopes alive with a 4-0 win over Poteet on Tuesday at Highlander Stadium. Nick Roostai scored twice for the Scots (6-9-4. 4-3-4), who led 3-0 at halftime. Jack Hamilton and Felix Gottlieb added goals.

With three games remaining, both HP teams will face Forney on Friday. The girls will play at home and the boys will be on the road.
