An undefeated run to the District 11-5A girls basketball title naturally led to several individual accolades for Highland Park players and coaches.

Sophomore forward Ella Patterson was named the district MVP after leading the Lady Scots in scoring in almost every game this season. Patterson also surpassed 500 points for her varsity career in January.

Fellow sophomore Madison Visinsky, who was second on the team points, was recognized as the top newcomer by district coaches, who based their choices on regular-season performance.

Madelyn Miller received first-team all-district accolades. Riley Mae Herrod, one of several freshman contributors for HP, was named to the second team. Nicole Fleming earned Coach of the Year honors.

Honorable mention all-district choices for the Lady Scots included Avery Turner, Caroline Keogh, Cate Rhodes, and Brianna Doyle.

HP will return almost its entire roster after winning 22 games this season, including one playoff game. The Lady Scots were eliminated in the area round of the Class 5A Region II playoffs by Frisco Centennial.
