Fourth of July Parade Memories

For decades, Highland Park and University Park have celebrated Independence Day with hometown flair, “the redder, whiter, and bluer the better,” as authors Diane Galloway and Kathy Matthews describe it in The Park Cities: A Walkers Guide and Brief History.

The Fourth of July parade and picnic brings neighbors together to decorate floats and bicycles, ride from one municipality to the other, and share an old fashion patriotic picnic together.
