Ugh, These Uggs Leak!

I wonder how many girls and women discovered during the recent snowstorm and its slushy aftermath that Uggs are not, in fact, waterproof.  Really, they are more for show than go all the way around.

    I learned this the hard way last week too. Any ideas on how to dry them out? I tried a hair dryer and leaving them by a drafty door??

    L.L. Bean sells a pair similar to Uggs but they are waterproof. I have a pair and I run around in weather and I’m nice and toasty and dry.

    You can get a waterproofing spray that will at least make them water resistant and it does not harm the look. I always spray my kids backpacks with it at the beginning of the school year.

    Those of us in exile up North could have told you that. They also have terrible traction on the ice (not having grown up with snow/ice I learned that the hard way). That being said, they’re still essential on frigid non-snowy days. Much more comfortable and better looking than real snow boots.

    I leave mine by the radiator when they’re wet and they’re dry by morning. I’m not sure how to replicate that in Dallas…

    Northface has great waterproof boots that are pretty sleek. Not as “cool” but glad I got those instead of Uggs for my last trip to NYC…who would’ve thought they would come in handy in Texas :)
