Scots Wrap Up Regular Season Tonight
Highland Park’s baseball team closes the regular season at 7:30 tonight with a home game against McKinney (19-9-1. 9-4) and plenty still on the line for the Scots (27-4, 11-2).
Highland Park has already wrapped up a playoff berth, but the Scots can still either win the District 10-4A title outright, grab a share of the district title, or finish in second place.
Rockwall-Heath (26-5-1, 11-2) is tied for first place with Highland Park. The Hawks close their regular season at Wylie East (8-19, 4-9) tonight. If the Scots and Hawks both win, they’ll finish as co-champions. The teams have already had a coin toss to determine playoff seeding if that scenario plays out. Highland Park would be the No. 2 seed.
However, a Scots win and Hawks loss would mean Highland Park wins the title outright and goes into next week’s first round of the playoffs as the No. 1 seed. If the Scots lose and the Hawks win, Heath is the district champion and Highland Park is still the No. 2 seed. The Scots will likely end up playing Frisco in bi-district.
It’s also Senior Night for the Scots. That would be the group pictured above.
