When Did Preston’s Close?

I’m sure I’m late to the party on this, but I’m wondering if I’m days late or weeks late. I just rolled through Preston Center and noticed a “For Lease” sign in the window of Preston’s, the eatery formerly known as Park Cities Prime. When did this happen?

The owner has plenty of cash, the last I heard was he was working on an electric Mercedes. Maybe engines are more profitable than steak. He should have erected a larger sign out front too!!!!

Nobody noticed them when they were there, why should they notice now that they left? More generally, there are some restaurant locations that are just cursed…and this is one.
I guess Popolo’s should have just paid the Millers.

I noticed that too, along with a few other big things happening lately that as far as I know have gone completely under the radar:

    1. Luke’s Locker just hung a sign over the long-vacant Horchow Finale space in Park Cities Plaza on Mockingbird. Unlike the Halloween store, this sign looks permanent. I thought SMU was planning to clear out the tenants and demolish the place, but surely Luke’s wouldn’t have signed a lease if that were the case?

    2. Hotel Lumen is basically doubling its size. How did this get approved without the decade-long drama and community freakout we saw with the Chase building, which is about a quarter of a mile away? The residential density around the Lumen is a lot heavier than at Chase, and – omg! – there is a preschool just a few feet away. Did no one think of the children?
