North Texas Arthritis Foundation to Host Mardi Gras Ball

The second annual “Krewe to Cure Arthritis” Mardi Gras Ball will return to Dallas on Feb. 23 at The Statler Hotel.

The event is hosted by the North Texas Arthritis Foundation.

“The focus of the Krewe to Cure Arthritis Mardi Gras Ball is to raise awareness about the prevalence and seriousness of arthritis, the disease, as well as raise funds to support mission-driven programs,” said Al James, executive director of the North Texas Arthritis Foundation.

“This is a community-driven event, and funds raised support research to find a cure, funding for Camps for children with Juvenile Arthritis, provide public health/educational programs for those who have the disease, and advocacy efforts in the community.”

The New Orleans night will feature fine food, cocktails, dancing, and a competitive mask contest. Entertainment will include guitarist Val Mooty during the cocktail reception and end the evening with the energy of Dallas’ own Emerald City’s “Party City Band.”

Cleo Greene, WFAA Weekend Morning Anchor, will serve as the Master of Ceremony.

Leading the Krewe is Ball Queen/Event Chair Dr. Mary Collings, a noted Chiropractor in the Dallas/Fort Worth community whose clients include both the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Mavericks. Her practice is Highland Park Spine and Sports Medicine located in Snider Plaza.
